Training
The Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is based on the teachings of the Japanese martial arts of the ninja and samurai. Over the centuries, it developed its style and adapted itself to the changing needs of time. Therefore, the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is not a rigid system, but a vibrant, versatile martial art that combines tradition and modern self-defence.
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is based on Taijutsu. This is the art of body control and unarmed combat. Inter alias Taijutsu includes blows, kicks, blocks, locks, throws and an extensive falling school. The intensive training of the basic school is the prerequisite for advanced techniques. Advanced students learn the handling of swords, staffs, spears and other traditional weapons based on Taijutsu. Additionally they practice self-defence techniques against knifes and guns.
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu teaches body control, regardless of age and gender. Neither previous knowledge nor a special physical condition is required for the training. A black Budo-Gi and Japanese socks (tabi) serve as a tracksuit. A respectful way of dealing with each other maintains a friendly atmosphere in the dojo and a mutual thoughtfulness avoids injuries when practicing together.
