Ninjutsu
The art of Ninjutsu developed many years ago in feudal Japan. To survive in a time marked by many armed conflicts, it not only required a sophisticated combat technique, but also a variety of strategies.
A better appreciation is gained by looking at the Japanese character Nin. As well as meaning both, patience and perseverance, it also stands for hidden, secret, or recognize the hidden. The character itself is composed of two parts: Ken (sword or blade) and Shin (heart). This means that the sword is to be lead with the heart, or that the mind should be like a sharp blade. Common translations of Ninjutsu are therefore "the art of the persevering heart" or "the hidden / secret art."
